It’s 2019 and sadly we still hear that old chestnut “But we’ve always done it this way” – especially when it comes to adapting a current WAN to an SD-WAN solution., how can you be sure that your IT provider is skilled enough to offer the solution that is ultimately best suited to you?

Regardless of which side you back, you only have to look at the current UK political situation to realise that sometimes even people or companies at the top of their game get it wrong. And the main reason for this is that they are working towards a brand-new end goal by using products or services that were designed for a very different environment or situation, using methodologies created to solve very different problems. Perhaps they don’t know who to look at for true unbiased expert advice.

Technologies have changed

Technologies change and end goals change. As the person in charge of leading a project to introduce SD-WAN and all of its key benefits to your existing infrastructure, you are under a lot of pressure to deliver right first time. There is an incredible amount of information out there on how to do this, and sadly, not all of this is correct. You inadvertently turn to what you know best – your existing supplier be that specific vendors or carriers. Unfortunately, this may not be your best choice, as more and more historic vendors try to promote their product as having “SD-WAN” features.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing: At SDWAN Solutions we see this on a weekly basis. Companies that have moved forward with an SD-WAN project based on the technology from a vendor that has supplied solid and robust services to them for many years, and with whom they have a great business relationship. But the crunch is, even though the vendor may be an expert in specialised services like security, routing or WAN Optimization do they really have the technology to provide SD-WAN? – our experience says no, and we’ve seen many companies waste time and money on projects that were doomed from day 1 by attempting a project without access to all pertinent information.

Knowledge is power

At SDWAN Solutions we’ve studied SD-WAN technology and vendors since 2015. We’ve developed an unbiased functionality rating system to compare vendor solutions and score them accordingly. Taking only those that score above 85% we’ve invested in full sales and technical product training with each of the vendors to fully understand every aspect of their solution – hardware, POC, configuration, implementation, support, change management, commercials, multi cloud strategy. We know the best fit scenario for each vendor, we know the limitations and we know the sweet spots

Be informed – with no catch

We like to think that we’ve done the hard work for you – we’ve taken the solutions and pulled them apart. You can of course do this too but spending months training to become a multi-vendor SD-WAN expert is probably not your remit. Have a chat with SDWAN Solutions – there are no commitments. We listen intently to what you need to achieve, with whatever infrastructure you currently have, and based on that we give you advice or an unbiased recommendation of the most appropriate solution for you. You can then choose to involve us in the project or not. There are no strings or tie ins.

30 minutes can save you months

Let us give you the knowledge that you need to make an informed decision about the upgrade to SD-WAN.
